Another novice from the Ozarks - 2007/06/06 08:51 Just found this site, and have been browsing. I saw that there was another from the Ozarks and had to join.

My name is Ann. I am a VERY novice spinner. I use a drop spindle and really don't know if I'm doing anything right... But I'm hooked..

I am a quilter/quilting teacher. When your avocation becomes your vocation... you need to find a new hobby...

Re:Another novice from the Ozarks - 2007/06/06 11:17 Hi Annie, welcome to the forum

I like the sound of your adage - but I think my husband would flip if I told him I had to take up something new now that I'm (sort of) making a living out of handcrafts he puts up with enough as it is

Re:Another novice from the Ozarks - 2007/06/07 17:06 So many crafts, so little time. I have three quilts needing to be finished. If you fall off, get back on and try again.

Re:Another novice from the Ozarks - 2007/06/19 15:53 Quilting is one art I haven't gotten to yet.

There is still so much to spinning and weaving that I haven't explored yet! Just took up making baskets, but that isn't really a 'new' hobby - just an extension of weaving!

Re:Another novice from the Ozarks - 2007/06/22 17:57 reeds are fiber!!!! We can write about that! I'm getting a little flack from the better half about staying "on topic" lol. My definition is a little looser than his lol. If you fall off, get back on and try again.
