Ok, first of all, calm down, it's really not that big of a deal.
Look through any wool garments and check for holes and eaten places. Then look through your fiber and check for eggs. If you don't find any, then probably no damage was done.
As a precaution, you can seal all your fiber in a plastic bag for two weeks. This should kill anything in there.
I wouldn't exclude yourself from the fiber swap over this, just be sure to check carefully, the eggs will look like little maggots. No eggs = no problem, but you might seal them into plastic, just to be safe. I store my fiber in plastic bags, in boxes. Some people say this is bad, but I have never had an troubles with it. You do need to be sure the fiber is not damp at all to avoid mold. I also wouldn't store raw fleece this way for long, because of the lanolin.
If you fall off, get back on and try again. |
