I'm Near the Finishline! - 2007/08/10 05:58
We knit for our families - right. Well, at least most of us do. My husband is still waiting for a first sweater, and how many years has he been waiting??? I knit for the kids when they were little, blankets, vests, sweaters, hats. And for us it was usually scarves. It wasn't until my daughter had her first baby that I went into knitting overdrive. Who needs to buy him winter clothes when he has a Nana that loves knitting. My daughter and her family are coming next week to visit for a month and I have been finishing up projects for her - a lacy tie-on shawl in multi-colored blues in silk/mohair super fine thread knit on #17 needles. The Knitters Review women thought I had made a mistake in needle size but it is ever so beautiful and weighs like air blowing in from the Mediterranean. Now my daughter wants a stole done in entrelac. Boy, have I stepped out on a limb. The pattern is found in Scarf Style by Pam Allen - absolutely the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time. Has anyone done entrelac before? What are you knitting for your family?
