About me, and my spinning Adiction - 2007/05/18 05:57
Hello, my name is Allena, and I have been a spinning addict for almost one year. It seems odd, that I have come so far in just one year. My dealer gave me the first fix free, and I have been enslaved ever since.
4 oz of fiber seemed innocent enough, I mean, it's just wool, not line the hard stuff right? I wasn't doing silk or flax or anything, so what happened?
I've gone from a nen-spinner to owning a small flock of sheep, contemplating bunnys and angora goats.
I was very fortunate to have someone to solve my problems, and explain how things worked. If you can believe it, I couldn't even spin for about four months due to pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. If it weren't for the people to calm my tears and show me what to do, I wouldn't be making beautiful yarns like I am.
So, one day I was reading an article on Knitty about spinning, and I thought I wish there was more on spinning. I looked and found a few other sites, but not what I was wanting.
Now, my family is an ambitious sort, and I started thinking, if I want this and can't find it, then other people want it too and Spindle and Wheel was formed.
Being a software developer, my husband didn't think making the site would be a big deal. We started it in Wordpress, but after transfering all my blog posts over it was sadly lacking. So we moved over to Joomla. Joomla is a big part of why the site works so well, and we are very pleased with it as a content manager in a word hoo -ah !
So after writing all these tutorials, and doing all the blinking spinning to write them, make them nice and clear I actually know a little somthing about what I am doing.
Now my Dad says that I am lazy, but I like to do things the easy way, and so I find easier ways to do things often, and now I can share those thoughts with you guys.
Thanks for everything!
Oh also I'm long winded, and my spelling is horrid.
If you fall off, get back on and try again. |
