Re:Let the frenzy begin! - 2007/07/31 00:43 I forgot what date is the deadline for sending out the packages? I can't seem to find the rules posted anywhere! Thanks!

Re:Let the frenzy begin! - 2007/07/31 06:54 The "deadline" for sending the first round of swaps is August 31. You're welcome to send sooner if you like. Don't worry - we'll send you a reminder email when the day approaches.

Re:Let the frenzy begin! - 2007/08/04 15:33 okay, I am a bit confused. I thought that we were supposed to send a thank-you package for the goody swap too?

Just want to make sure I don't do anything too too silly.

Re:Let the frenzy begin! - 2007/08/04 16:16 Well, to be honest it is a bit confusing. We came up with this swapping scheme and it seemed like a great way to do it, but it's been pretty confusing for everyone. Live and learn - next time we'll keep it simpler.

So here's how it goes: For each swap you signed up for, you got an email telling you about your pal for that swap. This is the person you should send the first package to. Then, that person will send a "thank you" package to you. The intent was that the "thank you" package would also be the same amount of fiber/yarn/goodies that was sent (as opposed to a token thank you gift).

The twist we through in that is confusing is that the person you got an email about is not the person that got an email about you. So you will send a package to the pal you got an email about, and you will get a package from somebody else that got an email about you. Then the person you sent a package to will send you a thank you package, and you in turn will send a thank you package to the person that sent you your first package.

You have until the end of August to send the first package out, so we hope you take a little time to get to know your pals and learn what they like, or what they might like to try. You have until the end of September to send the thank you gift.

I hope this clarifies things a little bit. If you're still confused (and I wouldn't blame you) don't hesitate to post or email us directly with questions.

Thanks!

Re:Let the frenzy begin! - 2007/08/04 20:51 Thanks---that does help immensely. I did understand, I just wasn't sure that I did after reading some of the posts on this thread.

So I will send a package to person 1, and a thank-you package to person 2, of approximately the same value. This is true no matter the variety of swap I chose.

Re:Let the frenzy begin! - 2007/08/05 22:50 That's it! The swap is simple, but hard to describe lol.

There are three pals in a swap group.

Pal A, Pal B and Pal C.

Pal A sends to you the first month, and You have Pal B, and you send to Pal C that first month. Then next month, Pal C sends you a gift, and you will send Pal A a gift.

It's not complicated really, but hard to explain clearly. I did it this way because the last swap I was in, I loved the items sent to me so much, but I sent both my packet to another person. I thought, wouldn't it have been nice if I could have sent a packet to both my Pals? That's why I did the swap this way.
If you fall off, get back on and try again.
