 Favourite Gadget? - 2007/05/17 17:40 So, what couldn't you live without?

Your spindle or spinning wheel doesn't count here but do you have a special doo-dad, attachment or something-hubby-made that makes your spinning life that much easier?

My latest favourite is my Nostepinne. I use it all the time for trying out new ideas and 'swatching' my yarns. It's very quick and easy to ply from and saves fiddling around with lots of bobbins www.kurrajonghandcrafts.com

 Re:Favourite Gadget? - 2007/05/21 01:02 Cpvc pipe and fittings, I make niddy noddys, skein winders, spindles, and all sorts of things. I recently used a section of it taped across the horns of a goat we are watching for friends so she wouldn't get her head stuck in the fence. I need to take a picture. If you fall off, get back on and try again.

 Re:Favourite Gadget? - 2007/05/28 20:22 My absolute, all-time favorite is a tiny glove-button hook I found in an antique shop years ago that I use as an orifice hook at whatever wheel I'm spinning on. The hook is small enough to fit through the orifice on even an antique wheel, it's really different than other orifice hooks, and I just like it.

My other favorite is the cloth-lined basked with the drawstring cover a friend found at Trader Joe's Market for me to keep roving in when I'm spinning outdoors at demonstrations. The roving stays clean and tidy, and the basket doesn't offend people's sensibilities the way a plastic bag does.
