Hi from the UK - 2007/05/17 17:33 I'm an Australian currently living in London. I learnt to spin at a very young age and am currently working on a book in partnership with my mum - who taught me to love all handcrafts (except maybe tatting ).

You can find me at http://www.kurrajonghandcrafts.com and I occasionally pop up on the KnitWiki and in various other publications as well.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Re:Hi from the UK - 2007/05/18 12:54 Hello

I am in the UK too, near Oxford.

After seven long years writing essays for my part time degree I longed to start actually making something. And because my degree was archaeology I was already interested in traditional crafts, and how everyday things (clothes, containers etc) were made in the millennia before massive mechanisation took over in the 19C.

I started up knitting again after a very long break, and quickly became quite obsessed, it moved onto hand dyeing, and I have just started spinning 'properly' having been a bit scared of it until now. I'll be addicted to that too before long, I can tell...

Cheers

Fi

Please pop in and say Hi if you get a chance,
Cheers,
