One thing I would add: with machine-carded roving (or top or strips from batt), it can make a BIG difference in some cases, which end you spin from. If roving proves hard to draft, try breaking it off, turning it end-for-end, re-joining and resume spinning. My original spinning teacher stated this in one of our first sessions, but it was quite a while before I devloped enough "feel" to sense the difference, but with some rovings, this can really help!
