Re:Drive band - 2007/06/04 02:02 Another thing is my girlfriend wanted some more bobbins and couldn't buy any she had to get a wood turner to make some for her. She found someone through the Woodturners club here you may have something like it there. It pays sometimes to know a wood turner.

Re:Drive band - 2007/06/04 05:38 You aremore than welcome to talk about brands or anything like that here. We mostly just ask that people be nice, not spam us, and not use bad language. Other than that I don't know of any rules on what to talk about, as long as it's somewhat related.

I have to say, as dorky as it sounds, I love my rubber tube drive band I made from beading tubing. LOL It's perfect, and costs about 3 bucks. For me, it was drive a coupla of hours or try that, and it works well. It seems to be holding up well too. I don't know if all wheels are so adjustable as mine though.

Glad you found a fix for it.

Re:Drive band - 2007/06/07 16:14 I did it in desperation, and I am thrilled with how well mine works, I'm glad it worked for you too.

I burned my fingers too, I wonder if you could just hot gue it together? I'll try it and get back with the answer.

Re:Drive band - 2007/06/18 13:13 I replaced the cotton drive band on all but my great wheel with pony bead lacing. It isn't tubing, just a plastiac lacing that stretches then relaxes. For $2 I was able to string 2 single and a double band wheel!
