Re:silk hankies - 2007/05/29 23:35 Well I enjoy doing this stuff, but the silk and rough hands don't mix well. I did get them all dyed, and I'm ready to write that up. I also took all the pictures, just haven't written it. You wanna race? We could see who gets done first.

Re:silk hankies - 2007/05/29 23:45 Diane, oops! I checked and I have this one about done after all. I have about 6 going at a time, so it's easy to get confused. I try to release them mid week or so, so today or tommorrow. SORRY! If you fall off, get back on and try again.

Re:silk hankies - 2007/05/30 06:29 I haven't tried this myself so no promises, but I was once told that if you rub lemon on your hands before you spin silk if prevents snagging. Jennifer

Re:silk hankies - 2007/05/30 10:59 *faints with disappointment*

Somehow I'll survive the rejection (sob!)

Got something else for me to do then?

Re:silk hankies - 2007/05/31 11:01 Well done on the silk hankie tutorial Allena! (There's no forum spot yet for Extra! Extra! so I'm just slipping this in here)

I have only one thing to add: HAND CREAM! Lots of it

I have been spinning both silk hankies and silk tops this week and the difference is incredible - the tops are behaving very politely but the hankie threads like to float around and stick to everything in sight. I keep finding them trailing after me whenever I walk out of the room.

My hands are pretty good (they only touch yarn remember!) but I feel like I've been loading firewood all week whenever I touch a hankie

Re:silk hankies - 2007/06/02 21:50 Diane,
I could really use projects for the site. Knit, crochet, weaving, whatever.

Little stuff, big stuff, clothing, book marks, anything.
