I looked at your tutorials... I have learned to Andean ply, and have done that with the yarn that I'm currently knitting with. I want to be able to spin in the car when we're traveling, which means that I needed a plying technique that didn't require a ball winder... The only difference is, I do the cross on the back of my hand, rather than the palm... But it's worked out beautifully. I've got some multi color BFL on my spindle now, and when I finish, I'll send some pics of the plying...

The Turkish knot would make wonderful weaving yarn. If you did your knots small, it shouldn't be too different from beaded yarn...

 Re:Sunday Spin-a-Long - 2007/07/02 17:46 OH... one other suggestion, for spindlers (that's me!), when something requires both hands, you can control a top whorl spindle with your feet.

I often 'kick start, my spindle when I'm spinning or plying... I get a better spin on it.
