some basic info needed on spinning please - 2007/11/09 08:55
Hi folks, I ave just purchased my first spinning wheel after seeing one in use at a local craft fair.I was hooked and determined to learn how to spin....now I am stuck lol. My wheel arrived by courier this morning and looks to be all there and intact, but i have no idea how to get going lol. I have learnt how to drop spin and have quite a good tension on the wool and also have numerous fleeces and already carded rovings? to use.My problem is just how and where do i start.
Please could some body help me get going on what looks like to being a very fulfilling hobby which if i get good enough I would like to set up my own business in the cottage industry lol. I can already hear you saying this lady is running before she can walk but my enthusiasm is there and i am a quick learner.
A bit about me. .... I am 41 years old and live in cornwall uk, i am a mum to 4 children and grandma to one 3 yr old.My hobbies include knitting, quilting, cross stitch crotchet and kayaking lol. I suffer from chronic migraine and was hoping that learning a new hobby would be more than welcome as i cant get out and about much because i never know when i m going to get a bad head.
I would love to be in touch with like minded people and learn an interesting hobby.
I look forward to all replies and of cousre that much needed help to get me started.
