The men's room - 2007/07/13 09:20 So glad to haer about another man joing the craft, here in England we have a few men that spin, more that weave. My husband can spin as can my 22 year old son although he doesn't do it as a rule. With regard to the fishermen's jumpers it's not just the Irish that use special patterns most of the fishing villages will have a detailed pattern to denote the area they are from and here in Cornwall they are called Ganzy's and under the arm pit there is a very special pattern just to that particular person so that if they should get lost at sea and then the body retrieved they will know who it is and where he comes from. A bit morbid but interesting.
Cheers Audrey
