Rakestraw spinner - 2007/05/19 03:34 Recently on another forum i clicked a link to something called a Rakestraw Spinner. Quite honestly i think its very pricey for what it is especially as i live across the ocean so i made my own version for my own use. Well in my opinion if you are interested in teaching a child or adult to spin at all i think its the absolute best thing there is.It is simple and uses the park and draft method so to me is an ideal teaching tool. Its also gimicky enough yet simple so that kids would love to use them. You should google the name and have a look if you want to teach a child especially.

Re:Rakestraw spinner - 2007/05/21 01:04 looks interesting, but is entirely beyond me as to how it works. If you wanted to write up and article or tutorial I would gladly post it for us all to share. If you fall off, get back on and try again.

Re:Rakestraw spinner - 2007/05/23 06:23 I did better than that i actually found where i put the link. Its http://rakestrawspinner.com/ when you get on the site just click on the rakestraw spinner video and it shows how it works. Truth be told you could cut a wooden ruler in half and drill a hole in it and use an old knitting needle and it would work effectively. Seriously it spins wonderfully well.
