I found your blog-- and it has inspired me. I had a beautful Borderliester ewe many years ago, that I raised from a baby....She was my pride and joy. But due to causes beyond my control I lost her-- I became so upset that I gave my spinning wheel up, and haven't spun anything in years...
I am remarried now-- and have been missing spinning.. I have been toying with the idea of the drop spindle-- and didn't have a clue as to how to use it....
I saw the children learning in an hour-- and I'm going to try it..
Who knows maybe I'll make some yarn too.
If I make anything besides knots -- I'll send you a picture if you'd like..
Thank you for your blog-- it brought back many wonderful memories of my ewe-- yours are beautiful....And it has inspired me to go back to something that I have missed-- spinning.
The spinning wheel is out of the question for now due to cost-- but a drop spindle--- my husband read your directions on how to make one, and he's making me one... So, with fingers crossed -- here I go to try my hand at this... Now if I can just get the motion down with my hands...
I'll be following your blog--
Many Blessings

I hope the lamb ends up okay. It's always kind of sad when baby animals die, but I imagine it has to be a lot worse when they're the only one (I've experienced it primarily with piglets and kittens, where there's always the rest of the litter).

I like the last photo - she looks like she's having so much fun!

I hope he pulls through. I have had goats that couldn't walk and they turned out fine. Keep us posted!

Thank-you so much - and it really WAS guessing. Large vet husband or no, I've gotten most of my sheep knowledge from other shepherds.

I hope Mist's little guy straightens out enough to grow up. You've gotten a lot of extreme experience this year!
